In trees, nut trees,usually. They differ from birds nests in that they are HUGE, and are way up high in the tree, towards the ends of the limbs. Also, they aren't as well constructed as birds nests.

Trees. In the fall after the leaves have dropped you can see their little nests up there.

They nest in nut bearing trees ususally. But they are very adaptable and can nest anywhere they feel safe with access to a food source they are comfortable with.

In large warrens they build in trees. The males leave to sleep in the branches when there are babies, but sleep in the warren in the winter.
Ohhh....Did I mention how good they taste when they have eaten pecans all of their life?
