If it's what you want to do, go for it! But just a tip...
Don't start wearing it heavy and dark right off. A lot of times, dark makeup doesn't look so hot, especially if you are just starting to wear it. I recommend some mascara, lip gloss, and maybe a bit of eyeshadow. It's subtle, and totally pretty!
But before anything, just make sure you breeze it by the 'rents to make sure they're cool with it.
Makeup is expensive, and if they aren't cool with it, they might throw your makeup away, which is just like throwing money away!
Best wishes to you.

When they start having complexion problems like acne. I think its unnecessary before 15. It would be fine earlier if used lightly as stated above, but quite frankly, many girls younger than that do not yet understand how to apply makeup lightly, what shades to use to for a natural look, and application techniques. I think most adult women can remember the lapses of judgment with makeup when they were inexperienced and excited by using something new. You dont really notice what odd taste you had until its too late, and its likely that other people did.

The right age to start wearing makeup is when her parents say so. Sometimes it's not a good idea because it could make you look way older than you are. Don't be in any hurry, and when your parents say yes, wear very light makeup, don't hide your natural beauty:)

When her parents feel she is responsible enough.
For my own daughter, I would say around 12 for lip gloss and maybe some very light eye makeup.
At 14, lipstick can replace the gloss, more eye makeup, and maybe a bronzer, blush, or powder.
16 for any face makeup. Concealers and foundations can clog pores, so why encourage skin problems, they come all too soon anyway.

Wow, a lot of people said 13-15, That's unrealistic if the girl actually goes to school, they will be sneaking make up with them by 5th grade unless the school has rules against it. My school did but my jr. high didn't. My parents and all my friends parents, decided halfway through 6th grade was a good time and it was. With all the 8th graders already in make up, it's what we all wanted. And the girls with parents who didn't care were already wearing it. 6th grade was the perfect age.

I think I started wearing makeup at 12, which, looking back at pictures, was a HORRIBLE mistake haha!
I would agree with 13-15, & definitely with some advice from adults/older siblings. =)

I'd say around 13, but VERY LIGHT makeup, very natural. No bright blue eyeshadow or heavy eyeliner or anything. Maybe some lipgloss and mascara, a little bit of tinted moisturizer if they've got bad skin.

im 13 and everyone at my school is already putting on make up and they all look like clowns. its halarious they put a whole ton on and they look like they are ready to go to the circus.
Looking older is actually not a good thing because males may start hitting on you thinking you are older. For example my classmate died her hair orange (she is asian by the way) and wears clothes like a 17 year old and a good amount of make up. a guy that works at walgreens asked her what college she went to. she said that she was only 12 (oops... for him..). he said "wow i thought you were about 22"
you see?

I think it depends on the girl and her parents. Some mature faster. I think 12 if it is lip gloss and a little eye shadow; natural colors only. You don't want to look like a slut, but you do want to look like a Beautiful Young Lady!

i started wearing a LITTLE bit of make up when i was 10(all i used was sheer foundation). then when i was 12, i added some mascara and concealer to that. then when i was 13, i started wearing foundation, concealer, powder, eye-liner, eye shadow, and mascara. For me, it worked, but different people have different ages that work for them.
