size of a Dell monitor?

Just got a Dell M992 crt monitor supposed to be 19" but it's closer to 17". Anybody else got ripped of?

did you measure it from opposite corners? I believe that is how they measure them

Are you measuring on the diagonal - the official way to do a size check on a CRT?

a 19" Monitor is only 17.6" viewable its not a true 19"
