pear halves in heavy syrup? I just opened myself a can and wow! I think i am in heaven, the liquid is so good

Mmm... I love pears. I remember one time I had mixed up the ingredients for a peach cobbler only to find I didn't have the can of peaches in the cabinet I thought I had! So, I used a can of pears and kept my fingers crossed the entire time it was baking-- it ended up being a delicious pear cobbler, especially when I put cool whip on top. LOL

I add dark rum or Cointreau to the syrup - now that makes a grownup treat.
