I visited an Old Folks Home recently....got really really really depressed the moment I stepped into it. The old people were so helpless and lonely I didn't know what to do. I went there on the pretext of volunteering my services, but I went off, having achieved nothing. I still feel sad, now that I recalled that visit. I guess, it takes an extrememly emotionally strong person to handle old people. I applaude those who have dedicated their lives to help the aged, sick and needy.

It is the way it has been planed . I'm not sure whether any of us think it is either NICE or FAIR however it is LIFE in all it's glory . As the saying goes Hopefully with age comes WISDOM . Unfortunitly that is not always true because some people choose to waste their lives . I pray that I don't waste mine . If I can touch others and perhaps help those less furtunate than I am, my life will be full.

Getting old is not "nice". Yet such is the wages of sin. For the wages of sin is death. From the moment you were born on this earth you began to die. Death comes to us all. The glory of Christianity is that we may know God and live forever with Him. Outside of Christianity there is nothing but death, earthly and spiritual.

I liked getting older until I hit 25, and I thought that was a nice place to stop, but it doesn't work that way.

if you mean "get old" when you see people who are cranky, negative, physically hindered, selfish then no its not nice to "get old" but when you look at ppeople who are in their 70's and up who have a joy , happiness , fun , energtic ,can take of themselves , in fact have more life than "young" people then what a wonderful thing to aspire to .

I'm 55, and I think it's great. I've been retired for 4 years, and couldn't be happier.

I have good health. If you don't have that, forget about it.
