Taurus and Capricorn - Am I making a mistake?

I have been seeing this guy for almost a year. We just broke up last week. We get along well. I am a Taurus (April 22, 1965) and he is a Capricorn (January 20, 1964). I know some astrology charts place him as an Aquarius, but he goes as a Capricorn. He seems distant but we have broken off in good terms, as far as I can tell. Help! Are we really compatible?

That's a pretty good match, but, because you may have some "aries" in you because you are on the cusp, that may provide some unneeded drama.

Aries men have a hot head and would not tolerate a grounded Capricorn male's sarcasm. Plus, he's on the Aquarius cusp which means he's prone to arguing and hotheadedness.

Basically you both need to act like your signs and not your cusps and you'll be ok. Otherwise, I'd start filing divorce papers.

Well it sounds as though he's actually more Aquarius....because Aquarius tend to be independent, intellectual, unpredictable, unemotional and detach themselves easily from relationships.Capricorn is very stable and doesn't do that so easily.
You as a Taurus are very stable, patient and reliable.
One of the biggest things that you two differ on is the unstability, you don't like change and he does. That can cause big problems with a Taurus. Whereas if he were more Capricorn, that wouldn't be a problem. I see him as more Aquarius, personally. I have been told that Aquarius men will one day be at your house, then gone without warning the next.
One thing you both agree on is that you both cannot stand someone to nag. They both dislike nagging people!
I'm married to a Taurus man, he gets very aggrevated with the Aquarians in his family. They're too unpredictable for him. He prefers stability and enjoys security much more than they do.

I just wanted to boot in here to say something other than horoscopic mumbo jumbo...you see, I don't know anything about the "signs" except that I'm a Pieces, born on February 26, ok...1965! Thanks for sharing your age with us and for being so candid. I really don't go by these "readings" either but I have a friend that loads off on me anyway, because he finds then entertaining...entertaining, that's all. So, are you compatible enough to get back together...again? Or are you wishing upon a star as well? I say, go get him tiger!...or, Bull, I mean! LOL, L8er

On the surface, yes. You completely understand eachother. Your cusps are also compatible, (Aries being fire and Aquarius being air) are elements that compliments eachother. I really can't see where this can go wrong.

The break up will probably be temporary. Capricorn's are naturally distant, so don't misinterpret that into him not caring about you. Especially since you ended on good terms.

If he is slowly trying to weed himself out of your life, than he is definetely sending you the message that he is ready to move on.

The only mistake you are making is using a horoscope to determine if your relationship is going to work. But for what it's worth my parents are those same signs and have been married for over 30 years, and are very happy together.
