This is very common in newborns. Don't worry too much about it. If the rash isn't cleared up when you run out of cream call and ask for more. Nothing you can do to prevent them other than keeping her as dry as possible (change frequently and use diaper cream at least 4 times a day to keep moisture from sticking to her bottom). Hope that helps.

Keep her out of diapers as much as possible. If my baby is on the floor, I put a prefold cloth diaper underneath her while she plays. I sit her on the potty when I think she has to go so she isn't making messes a lot. The fresh air will do her bottom a world of good.
Also try a diaper rash cream with lavender in it, like Burt's Bees. Or even just plain olive oil with lavender essential oil in it. Use the antifungal one diaper change and the next use the oil or cream. Keep using the antifungal for two weeks after the rash appears to be gone. (PS you don't have to use an expensive antifungal prescription, you can use any OTC cream, they work just as well)
One time my first daughter had a rash that didn't go away until we used an Rx antibacterial cream. This is a very different thing that the antifungal cream. Use with caution and only as a last resort, antibiotics aren't something to mess with or give out liberally. Only use if indicated.
Potty train her as soon as possible if she has chronic rash problems. that was the only way my baby got rid of her rash. Try the book "Diaper Free before Three" or "Infant Potty Training" because you can start potty training even as early as 6 months, or even younger (I'm potty training my 3 month old because of persistant rash problems).

This is pretty common. Has she taken any antibiotics lately? They are a pretty big cause of yeast infections. If her rash isin't gone soon, try buying a cream called Lotrimin. It is over the counter and it works great. It is a cream for athlete's feet which is also a type of yeast infection. You may also try feeding her yogurt. It has ingredients that helps prevent yeast infections.

Keep her clean and although I do not want to give you medical advice, my little girl had a bad rash and I had her go without diapers. Air her out. Every single time she would pee or poop I would wash her really good and dry her. Then let her just go without diapers. Her rash cleared within a few days. Sometimes antibiotics make the rash worse. So check with Dr. Remember to keep the baby as dry as possible. Good luck .

My little girl had the same thing a couple of times while in diapers. My ped doc said to let her run around a little while each day without a diaper and to keep her dry as much as possible. So you may have to change her diapers more often.

Diaper free is definitely the way to go to help clear it up. Get some waterproofs (you can cut up a cheap plastic table coth) and lay her on towels or the old fashioned cloth squares. Just change them when she wets/poos. They take no time to dry too.
Have you considered looking at infant potty training? (also called elimination communication). I've found this really helpful when it comes to naked butt time (lots more than before we started). The baby then spends much less time in diapers so that would help with the yeast infection. Also, my baby signals (by lifting her bottom, getting vocal, etc) so i don't have as much washing to do. Your also less likely to get peed/pooed on during diaper free time and changing time.

Well, yeast thrives in dark, wet surfaces.Try, while at home of course, let her lay in her crib bottemless.Or with a very loose gown or something. The same advice is givien to adults for yeast infections to be avoided and cleared up, women especially, should sleep with no underwear. But loose pants are ok. Oh yeah try to stick to cotton.

Talk to your DR again--- sounds like yeast out of control. If it looks better it may be starting to clear up but taking a bit longer- may need more nystatin to get it gone. call your DR---

I had this problem with my little girl, it's quite uncomfortable, but try a cool bath, yeast likes warm, and dies in cold. It worked for mine. Also try fresh garlic and rub it in her area, that worked for my grams kids. There's a lot of different home remedies, do some research. Some people say yogurt works. I know yogurt got rid of warts. You might want to feed her a little of that.
