My son (now 35) always had fever, runny nose, loose stools when teething. The irritation causes a histamine reaction which precipitates these symtoms. Doctors say fever does not accompany teething, but it does. There is really little you can do except treat the symptoms...tylenol for discomfort, etc. Benadryl might help block the histamine reaction, but it might also keep him awake (children often suffer reverse effects).

Try feeding her yogurt. Make sure it's got the live culture in it... and I think YoBaby does (of course so do all the "adult" yogurts) :) Just plain Dannon is fine... mix it with baby food bananas. Don't worry about getting "low fat" because she's a baby. Whole milk yogurt is fine. You just want the lactobacillus it's cultured with.

Sometimes their ph changes with all that excess saliva that teething produces and it will cause rash and diarrhea. Changing the ph back by introducing "healthy bacteria" into the diet will help in most situations.

This is also a good fix for diarrhea that comes with the use of antibiotics because they kill out the evil bacteria causing infection but also healthy bacteria that helps digestion.

Best butt stuff I ever found was just regular old Balmex or Desitin. Both have zinc oxide that stops whatever is in the poop from burning up that little bottom!

When it comes to teething poop there is nothing worse. Try pinto beans or something high in fiber. Fiber tends to make things stick together. Bread, crackers. cheese, maybe gold fish crackers. If she has a bad diaper rash the best thing is to let them go without a diaper or put them in training pants during the day. I know it will be nasty but it cleared up a really really bad diaper rash with my son whom is one in one day.

Use something called Butt Paste for the diaper rash. You can get it at the pharmacy it's behind the counter. Next put her on what my peds doc calls the brat diet. Crackers applesauce rice pudding and bananas. It works well when they have an upset tummy too.

unfortunalty running poop comes with the teething territory your could try cheese or what is called a brat diet bannana's rice apples and dry toast which is given to babies when they have diarehha green vegis promot poops so you might want to avoid those and for her rash make a mixture of corn stratch and water and paste it on her toosh it sounds crazy but it works and then change her as soon as she wet's and let her run bare for awhile also if you have recently taken her off of formula and put her on milk this could be the cause of her runny poop talk to her pedtrician maybe she is not ready for cow's milk yet.

just bananas..applesauce or pears will just make your baby poop so runny..her pedia told us to buy 2 buckets ,just right for her height, like the one we use as hamper, then dove white soap bar, fill the tub with warm water, dunk your baby on the first bucket while giving him dove wash, then transfer him to the other bucket to rinse..then wipe his body with a soft towel, fan it with a diaper, when it dries up..put diaper rash cream or ointment then put his diaper back... her pedia prescribed an ointment but Long's Diaper Rash Ointment made my baby girl's rash heals so fast..try it..c",)

Please research the CRAM diet. It may help if you want to try dietary changes. Sometimes the diet doesnt help with teething poops. Try plain crisco for her bottom. I know it sounds so awful but it makes the butt waterproof and prevents the acid burn that can accompany teething. Please remember to use just a warm cloth for cleaning cause the wipes can really burn--even if they say natrual or gentle formula.

try giving her bananas and potatoes that will help. also, i know this sounds wierd but put a little bit of liquid antacid on her bottom with a cotton ball. it will act as a barrier from the acids in her stools. i heard this from a nurse and it worked.
