Newer small block chevy 350's are made of cast aluminum.
Edit: Oh I didn't see the 1968 camaro. My bad, then it's cast iron.

are you sure its not a 327 because in that time frame they made what we called a "nickle 327" because of its high nickle content. also those are very potent motors but yes most SBC'S are made of cast iron
