Yeah, he's pretty sick. I knew all along he wasn't a part of the killing. He just wanted the publicity. He's convinced himself he's a part of her life. He's pretty pathetic.

Yes, there's something seriously wrong with that guy. But the police absolutely had to pursue it. It's still an open case, and it's their duty to track down the leads as they are developed.
Don't forget, he still has an outstanding warrant in Calif. And the Denver PD wasn't involved -- it was Boulder.
