seven of course! and for everyone listing "The Magician's Nephew" first, while technically it is the first in the series, it was the last book written----that explains why older copies of the series list "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" as the first book (it was written first).

well, by now, everone has answered how many... but I think that they're gonna pull a "Star Wars" and put them all out of order, to make people have to see ALL of them to understand any of them.

I think it's eight but I could be wrong. My husband bought me the big book with all of them in it so I read them all like one large story.
