Religious nutters? Please, use the correct term, we are Jesus Freaks!!
As for taking life seriously, we take relationships seriously. Me and my Christian friends are closer than blood. We support and care for one another. We are always there for each other. That is worth taking seriously. We great each other with hugs and are unafraid to show affection for each another. We are comfortable sharing laughter and tears.
Everything else is a riot!! My church has Alpha Band, New Fires Band, Jesus Reds Band, and Jesus Youth Band. Our music includes hip-hop, reggae, rock, and many other styles We dance (often a kind of pogo, because there is little room for much else at our big meetings), some people wave flags. At our meeting last Sunday the pastor had to tell us to stop about 10pm, because people wanted to carry on with the "Jesus Party" after we were due to finish.
Our J Generation have done some impressive dance routines. One of their latest "stunts" is a 5 level human pyramid. They also do "dares" or "fear breakers" like jumping off of the stage into the arms of the congregation. They can also be seen running through city centres singing, laughing, carrying banners and having a great time.
Some of us go on holiday together. This year we went to The Lake District and The Derbyshire Peaks. Next year we plan to go to Lindisfarne and Iona.
We give a whole new meaning to Fun (you could say we put the FUN into FUNdamentalism!!)

Religious Nutters take life seriously, because life is serious. You can party and have fun. Religious Nutters do have fun. We are not totally dead. We all have fun, but it is nice clean fun and we do not make fun of others. When you get older you will realize that life is more than just having fun. Life is serious, fun is not a sin as long as it is good, clean fun. Can you even tell the difference ???

Well I work for a christain based company so I am truly the black sheep around there dont get me wrong I think they are some really good people but to answer your question I would have to say some people just need to express their love for god more than others . I take life seriously and I have fun I party ect none of that is sinning but if fun to you means stealing and hurting people then you need a little more god in your life

I am very religious, but I don't consider myself a "nutter", nor do I think I'm not allowed to have fun. I didn't see a command that said, "Thou shall not have fun". My fun may be different than yours, but I love my life. I fish, backpack, play basketball, camp, go horseback riding, and mountain biking. I don't drink or use other drugs because I like to be in control of my actions (and to be honest, puking in a toilet most of the night wasn't all that fun to begin with). Just because I worship the Lord doesn't mean I give up a lot in my life. I have always been a kind and loving person and my beliefs allow me to continue that.

No, fun is not a sin! The sin is what you do to have fun. We aren't all nutters as you say, however you should try the LORD, he will show you how much fun it is when you hang out with the King of Kings! Ain't no party like a Holy Ghost Party cause a Holy Ghost party don't stop!!!!

I have now officially lost the will to live....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
Thanks for coming up with that line. Mind if I use it elsewhere?

As gentleman above stated, Christians can, do, and should have fun. Others are afraid their jollity might look like mere whistling in the dark, making it indistinguishable from the merriment of irreligious nutters.

because they are worried about their image in their church.
if you are not hurting others or harming yourself, or influencing others to do wrong . i dont know what the problem is
im a christian and there was a time i took it serious but then i grew out of that stage. some people become christians after a lifetime of bad living and just dont know how to have fun or loosen up and be free in there new life.
when you see some one like that just grab them and shakem a bit
and say loosen up man life is fun
love you brother, peace

If the fun you are referring to is to serve someones own pleasure without regard to others, I find it not fun However I am a christian and being "religious" is not a part of my walk with God. We do have fun but we think of others first.

I agree...religious people are so boring and they have all these rules you have to live by... you can't dance, you can't sing, you can't lift your hands in worship to the Lord... you can't shout in the church service. It's boring, Me, I prefere living on the edge, I do all kinds of fun things dance, sing, play loud music, travel the world telling people how good the Lord Is.... better stop... I feel a shout coming on!!!!
