Actally, very few if any were found innocent.

The finding is "not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt". Which doesn't mean innocent. It just means that guilt could be sufficiently proven.

One classic example is the Michael Jackson trial about child molesting. Most of the jurors were convinced that he did in fact commit the crime. But they also felt that the prosecutor had not met the burden of proving that fact beyond a reasonable doubt. So, they actually applied the law and did not convict.

I love that statement: "guilty but innocent". Guilt is a matter for a jury or judge/magistrate etc to decide in a court of law. The public can speculate all they want (and they do) but the fact is that the jury is in the best position to determine the question. They hear the evidence. They apply the applicable law. Meanwhile, everyone else who hasnt heard the evidence and doesn't understand the law thinks they're informed enough to have an opinion. They arent.

(by the way: OJ was found not guilty in his criminal trial but liable in the civil trial. This is because the burden of proof is different in civil trials: all that means is that its easier to prove a case against in a civil trial. Coragryph explains this better than I just did.)

It would be impossible to name the one's who are actually guilty. Although 90% of Americans know of the guilt, it is impossible to go against those people who get pertection merely because of their
1. wealth
2. fame
3. race (OJ's all black jury)
4. polital standing
5. liberal judges
