water, because it is denser than air, so the vibrations which make up the sound can travel further

As every diver knows, sound waves travel faster underwater. That's why sea cretures, like whales, can communicate over great distances. You can try this in a pool. Put your head underwater and listen to a friend across the pool clap their hands under water.

If by "on land" you mean through the air, then underwater is better because it is denser. Sound travels I think 8 times faster underwater than at sea level in air. If you mean THROUGH the ground, then that would be faster because it is even denser than water.

Tramssion of sound is by molecule to molecule collision .It is the product of a moving force. The velocity of sound is directly proportional to the density opf the medium. If sea water is the medium sound would travel alot faster than in air.

On land how? Sound travels faster though a solid because the molecules are closer together. Slowest though a gas because the molecules are farther apart.

on the land. because it is denser than water.
Sound is actually a disturbance in materials molecule. that means when you hit a material, you create a wave in that. molecules begin to move. so when the molecules are closer to each other, they can travel shorter distance to make another one moving. So they would lose less energy than travelling in water.

Better transmission in the air not on the water. The reason being water is incompressible. Sound is nothing but compression wave

Sound travels faster and farther in water because it is more dense than air.

Depends, With a radio, it would depend on the condition of the weather. Talking, water would carry it further, but land would carry it clearer

Water less things to block the sound waves from getting to you.
