Through the years, third party candidates have surfaced, and lack of money and structure have led to their defeat. There are several other parties now who have candidates for office. You don't hear about them because they don't have the money for TV advertising. Most of them have noble causes, but until a third party comes up with a really popular cause or differentiation from the two main parties, and can raise funds, they will not succeed. This would probably mean that several of these splinter parties would have to join together, and share finances. Unfortunately,. money, money, money is the problem.
