Who was the fastest man in the world in 1986 in the 100 meter dash and what was his time?

I know 86 wasn't an Olympic year, but if anyone knows who ran the fastest time that year, I would appreciate an answer.

I am pretty sure it was 9.85 by Ben Johnson, in the World Championships. His record has since expunged from the books, because of his drug taking which was only found out 2 years later in 1988 in the Seoul Olympics.(When he timed 9.79)

But back in 1986, all the rage was about Ben Johnson beating Carl Lewis, black and blue.

The fastest legal time run during 1986 was by Chidi Imoh of Nigeria, a time of 10.00. Carl Lewis of USA ran 9.91 with a wind that year. Ben Johnson of Canada ran 9.95 with a legal wind, but his time was subsequently disqualified due to drugs.
At the time, the world record was by Calvin Smith of the USA, of 9.93. That was at high altitude, set in 1983. The fastest legal low-altitude record was set in 1984 by Mel Lattany of the USA, 9.96.

From 1982 the World Record belonged to Calvin Smith (USA) who run 9.93s in Colorado Springs on 03.07.1983. This time was beaten in 1998 by Carls Lewis.
The fastest time in 1986 was 10.00s was set by Chidi Imoh (NGR) in Berlin on 15.08.1986.

It might have been Ben Johnson, who took gold in 1988 only to later lose is....Canada's highest highs and lowest lows within a few days...I met Ben after that....the guy moves like a cat, but cant speak worth a damn.
