Reduce!
6/3 = 2
6/9 = 2/3 (Both numbers are divisible by 3)
-8/-6 = 4/3 (Both numbers are divisible by 2 and you can cancel the negative sign on the top with the negative sign on the bottom)
15/-6 = -5/2 (Both numbers are divisible by 3 and you can move the negative sign to the top)

If you can, divide or reduce it. Otherwise, let it stay :)

Like for the examples

6/3 = 2
6/9 = 2/3
-8/-6 = 4/3
15/-6 = -5/2

you can do all of those things, it depends on the problem.
6/3=2
6/9=2/3
-8/-6=4/3
-15/6=-5/2

In college math and physical science courses, the preference is to reduce, but leave it as a fraction, even if its numerator is more than the denominator (unless it can be reduced to an integer):

instead of negative one and one-half, write: -3/2

in your examples 6/3 would be 2.
6/9 would be 2/3.
-8/-6 would be 4/3.
15/-6 would be -5/2

(6/3) = 2
(6/9) = (2/3)
(-8)/(-6) = (4/3)
15/(-6)
(-5/2)

If it's for homework, do whatever you were instructed to do. If it's for your own work, use whatever form is easiest for what you're doing.
