That is weird but it probably has a lot to do with how you were raised. I was raised to look at someone in the eyes when i talk to them and i dont feel like im invading them...besides how can you invade someone just by looking at them??

No, it's actually the proper way to communicate with people. Just keep practicing and you'll eventually become more comfortable with it. Looking someone in the eye says a lot about a person's character.

Briefly looking at someone in the eye is a way to establish contact.

If it is done for more that a moment, it will be perceived at a challenge or a threat.

That is the basis of your aversion.

Most people healthy well-adjusted people will instinctively avoid unnecessary conflict with others.

Some animals consider looking into the eyes a threat signal, an act of aggression.
In our western society it is considered a sign of honesty.
I believe I have heard some eastern societies consider it an act of disrespect but I don't know that for a fact.

I think it's weird to not look them in the eyes. When someone doesn't look me in the eyes when talking to me, I'm assuming that they are lying to me about something.

me too. I can't look them straight in the eye and have a conversation. I've noticed and have wondered but never really cared to know.

I do the same thing. I always wonder what they are thinking when they are looking at me. It's from not having enough self confidence and it's a form of social anxiety.

There is an old saying that goes something like "I know you're listening if I can see your eyes". It will get easier as you grow. Practice.

PEOPLE EVALUATE YOU ON THAT, SO YOU NEED TO PRACTICE IT. A LOT OF PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT, BUT WE HAVE TO. ESPECIALLY WHEN WE ARE ASKED TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT SOMETHING.
IF YOU HAVE DIFFICULTIES, TRY TO LOOK AT THEIR FOREHEADS, THAT AT LEAST MAKES IT SEEM LIKE YOU LOOK THEM STRAIGHT IN THE EYE, BUT TRY TO LOOK THEM IN THE EYE WHEN IT IS IMPORTANT, EVEN IF YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE DOING IT.
