I don’t know about the game per say….but the theory is that any one on earth can be connected to any other person on the planet through some association with not more than five people between you.
Something like that

It's a trivia-type game where someone thinks of an actor and then you try and connect that actor to Kevin Bacon through other co-stars. The object is to figure out the connection within 7 people (including Kevin Bacon I think).
So for example I will throw out the actor Mike Myers.
Mike Myers was in Austin Powers with Seth Green.
Seth Green was in The Italian Job with Charlize Theron.
Charlize Theron was in Trapped with Kevin Bacon.
I believe that's calculated as three degrees.
So you could compete with your friends and see who can make the connection in less degrees.

If you know Kevin Bacon, that is 0 degrees of separation. If you know somebody who knows KB, that's 1 degree of separation. So the statement means that there are 6 people between you and KB, i.e. you know somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody, etc. 6 times. I don't know how KB came to be the example, but the general contention (notice I said "contention", I'm not sure I buy it) is that everybody in the world is separated from everybody else in the world by no more than 6 degrees of separation.

You pick an actor or actress [although most use actor for both men and women now].
You are supposed to think of an actor in a movie with actor 1.
Take actor 2 and think of actor 3 who was in a movie with actor 2.
Keep this up until actor 6 is Kevin Bacon.

The theory is that anyone on earth is connected to Kevin Bacon by associating yourself with one other person.. that person with someone else.. and so on until the last person is directly associated with Kevin Bacon.. Personally, I have only one degree of separation.
