What is a common goal between the characters from these books?
~ To Kill a Mockingbird
~ A Hope in the Unseen
~ Of Mice and Men
~ Nickel and Dimed

P.S. I've already got my ideas and have started the assignment, I just want to make sure that I'm not completely off course. Haha. And thanks in advance.

Hey Tammy -- The Chosen is a really good one .. take a look at some of the others by Chaim Potok, he completely changed my view of the world around me.

Summer Assignments? It is SOOO much the ego of the instructor to make you work beyond the scope of the course. I've seen killer assignments made over spring break!

Take MY class, my assignment is "study the refractive properties of light on a body of water" .. which means, "let's go to the swimming pool".

I've only read TKAM and Nickel and Dimed. In those books you could equate Ehrenreich and Atticus as similar characters in they are both trying in their own ways to improve the circumstances of ordinary people and/or to make sure that these ordinary people have a voice in society. Hope that helps and good luck!
