Does the obese state that are people are in cause us to forget that there are more important things than pizza hut and chicken wings? Why do we care about Brad & Angelina when there is so much turmoil in the middle east. Have we become so stupid to even care what it really means to be a American??? People are dying in Africa, and China is becoming a economic force.. We must remain on our toes to remain number one.

I really care about the middle east and the environment, especially global warming. Sometimes I like to kick back and my guilty pleasure is reading In Touch and finding out what's happening with Brad, Jen and Angelina. Ashley, Jessica, Lindsay and Paris too. lol. I'm not dumb, just get a kick out of how these people live.

I agree. I could care less what Bragelina's baby looks like. Or why Tom Cruise is jumping on sofas. I think American's can't deal with reality so they obsess over other peoples lives in fantasyland (i.e. Hollywood Celebrities) I think its pathetic that there are probably more people in this country that voted for the next american idol than voted in the presidential election.

Sometimes its nice to take a break from our own stressful lives and watch the stupid and amusing things that celebrities do. Life cant be taken so seriouisly. We're AMERICANS. Let the middle east worry about the middle east. We have enough problems in our own country.

I don't think it's that people don't care about the real problems. Checking out the celebrities is an escape mechanism from the real world just like movies and TV shows are. You should probably lighten up a bit.

the gossip is sometimes good, but only small doses, don't like getting them shoved in my face all the time. Some people think that celebrities have the best opinions, politics, etc. and follow them blindly. sometime what is happening in the middle east is too hard to take and we need a little fantasy.

this is just the way it is, every advanced civilazition get slow and stupid, and then sucombs to the sucessor. we are fat, stupid, and unaware of how far we have fallen. our school children care more about paris hilton (who i got a bone to pick) than the fact that 3/4 of the world hates us and is planning opur demise.
PS- where the hell does paris hilton get off comparing her self to marylin monroe or princess diana. she is a plauge on this society, not a benifactor of. she needs to be exiled to the south pole so i never have to hear her voice or idiotic ramblings again

because our lives are stupid and boring and we're trying to escape the horrible reality of the evil turmoil that goes on around us all because we can't stop watching TV long enough to vote so dumb *** people like Bush become president and put us in the middle of all this bullshit

We probably devote most of our work day and family attention to 'real life issues'. Once we get away, a great escape is to watch mindless t.v.
