Of course your children come first and you should never feel guilty about that, yeah thank your husband for helping you create such precious spirits, but remember he is a grown adult and had his raising and your children rely on you to mold their future, you are their world so why is it a question that they are yours???

I know how you feel. I am 31 and have been with hubby since I was 16.
Your children come first for the most part and during the day. But at night and when the kids are away you have to make your hubby feel like a king. Make sure you can have someone take the kids over night once a month and make that night all about your hubby. He will appreciate it and he will anticipate having those nights.

A good wife is a good mother. That sounds real stupid but it is the truth. Your children eat up most of your days and that is as it should be. There is no need to ignore your husband while taking good care of your children. Mornings are horrible but as wife and as mom you are in charge of breakfast doing something quick and easy that both husband and children like is showing love to both. Need something relaxing to do in the evening , go for a walk , put the kids on bikes or in the stroller and you and your husband and the kids go for the walk, the kids get time with mom and dad and usually will ride ahead so mom and dad can have a conversation. After dinner while you clean up the kitchen Dad can give the kids their baths. This , of course, can be reversed. Once the kids are ready for bed if they are old enough let them read for awhile than tuck them in. Now it is time to show Dad that he is YOUR husband and for him to show you that you are HIS wife. It is all a balancing act. If you do it often enough you will see many many anniversaries and after awhile the kids won't be there but you two will.

neither comes first. they should be equal at all times. if one has the audacity to think they should come first, they out to be slapped into reality.
reality is, at some point your children will grow up and leave (hopefully anyway) and you will be with your husband forever after. so that relationship needs always to be nurtured. by the both of you.
your children should be a priority for the both of you! always, because they are both of your children (i say this even with stepchildren involved. if the stepparent isn't including the children as his/her own, the stepparent needs to re-evaluate that situation)

Well, yes, you need to balance both. It may seem difficult, but think of the generations of women who have done it. Your husband gave you your children. Respect him for that!

Not at all. My children come first. As the joke goes- they are the ones that pick your old folks home.

Yes, your children are first.
But they need their dad to be happy.
So to make sure your children come first : take care or your husband first !
Good luck !

Being a mother...if you aren't a good mother, you can really screw up your children. I agree with you...the kids are first.
