hey, a web page designer is a great job! They make a lot of money, because web pages pop up like crazy on the internet. That has to be a lot of money! I might call you when i need a web page built!!

Like most professions, some do very well and many do not. It depends on how good you are, and how diligent you are about staying busy. If you work for someone you should make decent money but won't get rich. If you have your own business, you can do very well as a designer, IF you know how to sell and market your business so you have enough customers, AND how to run the business so you actually make a profit.
Game programmers only make really good money if they are extremely talented, creative and accurate. The few I know of that got rich designed their own games, then created their own companies. Again, a good strong self discipline and business sense is critical if you want to do extremely well, versus just okay.

I think you can currently make good money. I'd be worried about these jobs being shipped to India.

they make more than me! and the job is only good if you know what you are doing and actually like it!
