There is a law against throwing cig. butts on the ground. Here, it's considered littering and can land you a $300 fine.
There was a time when littering went unnoticed... this law has really been enforced in the past year where i live.

The littering law should be enforced. And the penalty should be hours of clean-up service, cleaning up cigarette butts that were tossed on the ground. Maybe then they will understand what pigs they are being.

Well, there is a law against littering. However, it would prove to be a bit difficult to fine or punish someone because you found a cig butt on the ground and didn't know who tossed it.

There are already anti-littering laws, they just aren't ever enforced. I hate to see people throw their butts on the ground, and I often confront people about it, but frankly there's not much you can do. The Police just don't stop and ticket people for littering, even though they should, they have bigger fish to fry.

And the ones that won't even stop to stamp it out are even worse. Of course this is no where near as bad as the butt head who flips it out the car window.

Yes, littering ($500 fine in my state), but apparently, you have to do it in front of a cop who is very bored.

The crime is called "littering" and there are laws against it.
What is needed is enforcement.
