in the first/second ep it was said that if their bodies are put under physical strain or they are hugged by a member of the opposite sex that they would change into the 12 zodiac animals plus the cat. also that they can call and communicate with their respective animals. the one person who is the zodiac center is Akito who is the equivalence to god in their eyes it is said in the English version of the anime that he was said to die even before he was born tho explain for his behavior towards everyone the curse puts Akito in so much stress that he needs to be under medical watch for his sicknesses

the curse is that they all have to be with Akito or akiko hadnt watch it in a long time so i forgot how to spell. They all turn into their animal when hugged by an opposite sex.. to be honest im not exactly sure yet cuz i only watched the incomplete series. it doesnt make sense

the curse is that they are bonded to Akito. They can't leave really... It's a bond that won't break until the cat is loved as we all know... Thats the true curse... and the fact that they turn into animals!

That there will always be 13 members of the Souma family that will turn into the animals of the chinese horoscops under certain sircumstances. It's really not that complicated.
