I am looking for a sample welcome letter and also wanted to know if anyone had some tips for organizing the classroom and knew of any good websites.

Your welcome letter should include the materials needed for the class, your expectations and discipline policy and perhaps some things that you hope to accomplish in the year. I also include my contact information (email and school phone number and voice mail #).
Organizing your classroom is really a personal preference. You may find that you will try various ways until you find what works best for you.
I took a workshop once that was targeted to the needs of autistic kids. The presenter suggested googling images for the kids. She felt that visuals were extremely helpful for them. There were more websites but I do not know where the packet is at this moment. I will look around and if I find it I will let you know the others. She strongly recommended laminating cards and using images.
