By now this question is completely confusing. Some people are saying to divide the speed by the distance and coming up with 2.4727 and some are dividing the distance by the speed and coming up with .408.
Let's look at it this way, in one second the ball can travel 149.6 feet. Since it only has to go 60.5 feet (.5 feet = 6 inches) then it will take less than one second to get there. My money is on the group that said .408 seconds.

Think about it this way, if the ball travels 149.6 ft/sec then after 1 second the ball will have traveled exactly 149.6 ft right? (yes it is)
So 60ft and 6 inches or 60.5 feet being less of a distance than 149.6 feet one would have to conclude that it would take less than 1 second to travel that distance correct? (of course)
So you take the distance the ball traveled and divide it by its speed to find out how long it took to get there. Make sense? (It should)
So now its a simple matter of plugging the numbers into your calculator.
60.5(ft) is your distance traveled, 149.6(ft/sec) is your speed and 60.5/149.6 which equates to approximately 0.404(sec) is your time.
The official equation is S = D/T or Speed = Distance/Time which by multipling both sides by T we get S*T = D then dividing both sides by S we get T = D/S or Time = Distance/Speed. Which is what we discovered above, you now have the equations to find S, D, or T if need be.

First put your factors in equal terms: you know the feet per second the ball can travel, so convert the distance being traveled to feet. That would be 60.5.
The time it would take the ball to travel any distance is equivalent to how many times the distance being traveled can be divided by the ball's average speed: 60.5 / 149.6 = .4044...
Your answer is .40 seconds.

149.6 feet * 12 gets 1795.2 inches.
60 feet 6 inches is 726 inches
1795.2/762 gets 2.3559etc etc etc[lots of decimal places] to 4 significant digits ...
2.356 seconds.
oh wait switch those numbers around yeah that's the problem
now you can do your homework....

60 feet and 6 inches = 60.5 feet (cause 6 inches is 1/2 foot)
(60.5 feet) / (149.6) = .4044117 seconds

2.472727
you convert 60ft & 6 inches and149.6ft to inches (149.6 * 12=1795.2) and 60ft & 6 inches (60 * 12= 720 + 6)
and then you divide it..
1795.2/726=2.472727

Here is how I did it:
149.6 = 1
60.5 = x
you cross-multiply (60.5 times 1)(149.6 times x)
and you get this:
60.5 = 149.6x
now, divide 149.6 from both sides
60.5 = 149.6x
149.6 149.6
and you should get this:
0.404411764 = x
