A good starting place-- look at the number of people infected in Africa, dying and dead. The whole continent seems to have it. It's horrible. And religion gets in the way of preventing this deadly disease. I actually heard a young African man, a trained nurse over there, say that because he was a christian and christians aren't allowed to use condoms, that he would continue having unprotected sex..

Good point. I'm not gay or straight...I just appreciate beauty and it is irrelevant to me if it's masculine or feminine. And I can tell ou what I've been around...

My only brush with HIV, however, was after being intimate with a straight woman. Not a bareback anal orgy in an alley. So there you have it. People are eager to stereotype what they don't know just to reach a distant understanding that they can live with.

The numbers and the words speak for themselves. It's too bad the majority of people refuse to listen, simply because they don't like what they hear. They keep hoping that these numbers and words will buoy up their prejudices instead of pointing the finger directly at themselves. [sigh]
