Although Wal-Mart has never excluded homosexuals from being employees, customers, or suppliers, the company wanted to be more closely identified with promoting the homosexual agenda. Wal-Mart is now a "corporate member" of the NGLCC, putting their approval on the NGLCC's efforts to abolish the definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. A Wal-Mart vice president will serve as an advisor to the NGLCC, helping them promote homosexual marriage

Wal-Mart agreed to give $25,000 to the NGLCC and to pay for two conferences scheduled by NGLCC. Also, Wal-Mart will give homosexual-owned businesses special treatment when making purchases. Companies not owned by homosexuals will be moved down the list.
NGLCC called Wal-Mart's action "part of the company's ongoing commitment to advancing diversity (homosexuality) among all of its associate, supplier and customer bases."
Wal-Mart is offering the same kind of support for homosexual marriage which Ford Motor Company has been giving to homosexual groups for years.

Oh, my God! The world is coming to an end!!! How can I go on?!?! Maybe we should all boycott Wal-Mart and Ford and all those other progressive, liberal organizations that promote love between two consenting adults!!! - You are such a ******* bigot! Get over it and get over yourself. Don't you have anything better to worry about, like world hunger, global poverty, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the threat of a nuclear holocaust?!?! I mean how terribly dangerous can gay marriage be? Who is it hurting? You? I don't think so. The institution of marriage? With divorce rates now hovering around 50%, I very much doubt it. No, you are just seizing on this as a chance to let your deep seated homophobia loose on the world. Funny, I always thought that being a Christian was about love and acceptance, not hate and ignorance. I guess I was wrong about that, huh?!?!

In my 45 years of life, I've seen heterosexuals doing all sorts of things to destroy their marriages. Never once have I seen a gay person try to destroy someone's marriage.
Why on earth would anyone oppose allowing two people who love each other to marry? Why deny them the legal protections, financial safeguards, security that others have?
In a free society like America, religious ideas (like that only straights can marry) have no place whatsoever in civic life. It's despicable that anyone should try to prevent gays from having an equal place in civic life. What are the problems of these people? Why are they obsessed with gays? (Lots of homophobes are latent homosexuals, too bad for the self-hatred spilling over onto others...)
I'll still never set foot in Wal-Mart because of their destruction of the livable wage and their hypocrisy in resisting unions but paying wages so low they encourage their workers to seek public assistance. Still, I'm glad they are willing to face down the red neck bigots and support equality under the law and human rights.
just curious - how can one be proud to be white? one is either born white or not. you might feel grateful or lucky or indifferent or cursed to be born white, but you had nothing to do with it, so you it is an illegitimate and pretty ridiculous source of pride.
why don't you actually accomplish something - then you'll have something real to be proud of. you'll be much happier and much less likely to attach groups of people.

I'm glad Wal-Mart is trying to do something smart and useful.....There's no good reason for you to be so against gay marriage. That's not your concern. Lots of men want to marry men, and lots of women want to marry women. IT'S CALLED LOVE, and it won't threaten your life at all! If you are so against christianity thrown in your face, then why treat gays like you're one of those bible beaters? You don't know about gay life - I do. Many of us were simply born loving the same sex. Sorry if you cannot understand it, but it's true and our feelings are not a choice. We deserve the same legal rights to marry as ANY couple in love who marries can have. It is NOT a beginning of any problems in the world. Men marry women and THEY FU*K UP marriage worse than anyone with all of their cheating, abuse, divorce, greed, fatherless kids, threesomes, incest... Men and women are the ones who have turned marriage into a joke. At least gays want to marry for love and try to make it work! I'm glad to hear you're white and proud, but don't knock on gays - we didn't do anything to harm you and we all have to get along and play nice in this world.

The National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce sounds like a business group, not one promoting gay marriage. Don't be such a homophobe.

Good that they lost your business. Now maybe I will shop there, but not likely. See most homosexuals fall way above the income medians that Wal Mart targets. While we appreicate the support, the store still does not appeal to us.

Can you say "wussy"?
Come on, you little chickenschit.....just because some gay people want to be able to get married like everyone else, and you're the one running away like a little Nancy?
Grow the hell up.
It's 2006 for Gods sake.
...and your boycott won't change a thing.
Do you think Wal-Mart wants illegal immigration stopped, either?
You definitely aren't a businessperson, but you definitely are a bigoted, hateful and bitter....um.....christian.

No decent homosexual with an ounce of taste would EVER want to be put on the bridal registry at Walmart anyway....
Can you Imagine... My gay friends would laugh in my face!
It starts at target and goes up from there... and that's only for cleaning products!

Wal-Mart has also lost all of my business, even though I don't shop there anyway. NGLCC is a joke, I'm sick of the gay and lesbian stuff, you guys should be kicked out of the USA.

Wow, good for Wal-Mart!
Geez, I thought I couldn't find anything good about that retailer, but now I'm having second thoughts. 'Course, they're probably just doing it for publicity/business reasons, but hey...I might just have to start shopping there!
They may have lost your business, but they've possibly gained mine.
