There are several programs out there that will take a wave or a MP3 and convert it to midi. The good ones will separate out the instruments and vocals into separate lines.

Then there are other programs that can convert the midi back to a wave or midi.

you could EQ out 3K-5K.... that would help a little....... but there is no way of actually seperating the vocals from an instrumental....... like for a karaokee machine or something.
