I live in a suburb next to the City of Niagara Falls....

Best thing to see-- Butterfly Conservatory on the Canadian side. It's not too expensive, but lots of fun. It's kind of like a big, tropical indoor room with butterflies are all over the place. Wear bright colors and they'll land on you. Wear citris perfume and they'll swarm you. It's loads of fun. Only $7 per person, I think.

If the weather is warm, and you're looking to spend some cash, do the Whirlpool Jet Boat rides. I think it's like 40 bucks a person, but they take you on a speedboat ride over the whirlpools and rapids on the river a bit bownstream from the falls.

Maid of the Mist takes you right up to the waterfall. Everyone loves it, but I've never done it. You'll get very wet.

Cave of the Winds -- Takes you on a walk and you come out behind the waterfall. It's neat.

If you like Casinos, try Seneca-Niagara on the New York side. It's a great place to stay if you don't already have a hotel. It's brand new... lots of cool architecture... it's the tallest building in the City of Niagara Falls, so you'll get a great view of the falls if you request it.

Even if you don't like casinos, go to the Buffet at the Seneca-Niagara casino. You don't have to gamble to go there. For 16 bucks, you get a HUGE Buffet-- even bigger than most of the big vegas buffets. And the food is outstanding.

If you're looking for fancier food-- try the seneca casino's Italian Restaurant. 2 Waitresses per table, they wipe the crumbs away with a fork, etc, etc.... Awesome gourmet italian.

Hard Rock cafe is on both NY side and Canadian side. It's a fun place. There's also a rainforest cafe-- a little touristy and pricey , but still fun.

If you're looking for a fancier-type restaurant, go to the Skylon Tower. It's a rotating restaurant way up in the sky. Beautiful views and kind of elegant.

Go to Clifton Hill on the Canadian side... lots of fun stuff like haunted houses, ripley's believe it or not, wax museums, etc, etc.

Don't waste your time going to see the "Power Authority" tours... it's boring unless you're into that kind of stuff. Same thing with the Scholkoff Rock Museum.

Oh yes... if you come this year, and you're an american citizen, you shouldn't need your passport to cross the border. Just have your driver's liscence.

Good luck... have a good trip.

I was just there in July, but I've been there plenty of times...

I would say the Journey Behind The Falls is really awesome!! The Maid of the Mist isn't really that great... it's pretty much just a boat ride that gets you about 20 - 30 feet from the falls and then you turn around and go back... if you like that kind of thing, then by all means (it's your trip!!). The Butterfly Conservatory is cool (Canadian side), and then of course there is Clifton Hill, but be prepared to spend money there!! The best restaurant on the Hill is Ruby Tuesdays. It's not too expensive and you can sit out on the deck and overlook the Hill. Some of the servers there are cute too! ;)

Other than that you can always hit up the casino if you're of age or even the Hard Rock. Before you leave make sure you go to the UFO restaurant (it's up past the top of Clifton Hill)... just don't get a large juice there!!! Medium will suffice (BELIEVE ME!!!)

Have an awesome trip!! :-)

Well, there is the falls themselves. But don't just look at it from the top. Take the boat tour that takes you up close to the falls. It is absolutely awesome. There is also the Three Sisters islands(I think thats what it is called)- these are a little quieter and nature friendly. Also, if you're planning a fall visit, there might also be nightly fireworks, but I'm not sure of the schedule. I've also heard a lot about the Butterfly Conservatory there, but I've never been there- so if you're into that kind of thing, give it a try. Also, I really liked the view from the Canadian side of the Falls, so bring your passport along.

Canadian side-tour under the Falls- Maid of the Mist boat ride.If you haven't been to Niagara before you'll enjoy it. Plenty of tacky tourist trap stuff also, just ignore that stuff.
ENJOY
