People who do not understand the social climate of the times think his fascination with little girls (including Alice) was sexual. It is possible, I suppose that it was, but people in that era were very sentimental about children (so many died early) that the things he said and did were not necessarily abnormal. There is no way to be sure, but I think his liking for little girls was not sexual - he liked to write for and about children, so he spent a lot of time with them, took their pictures (nude? - I don't think so!) and wrote loving notes. But I have seen no indication that he molested children or thought of them as sexual beings at all. He really liked kids - end of story.

He had a rather unhealthy relationship with Alice Liddell (the girl who inspired "Alice") and I believe he was into taking nude photos of young girls.
