For some screwy reason, people have taken it into their minds that communicating through text and the internet does not require proper spelling or grammar, just good phonetics and knowledge of abbreviations. For too many people, it's speed not proper linguistics that seems to matter when it comes to internet text messaging and e-mailing. If the image of not being educated is the one they want, though, that's their choice.

You are right on. It would be one thing if Yahoo didn't provide a spell check right here to take care of that but they do. You have to have the right browser I found as it seems to not be available in all of them.
However there are some people that will not even make the attempt. Not much Yahoo can do about that. To force people to spell would mean an awful lot of people would quit using it.
You can tell that from some of the answers to this question.

I have never asked a question, but when I answer on there is a "Check Spelling" link. That's good, even though I have written professionally for an aviation trade magazine, I still can't spell for crap and make lots of typos.
Most people probably don't care enough to spell correctly.

you're genuinely excellent. lots of the spellings in YA questions and likewise in solutions, are deplorable, and elements me the shivers. not that my English is sweet, or grammar and punctuation are ideal, yet i'm completely at a loss to comprehend why human beings do not use the spell-examine facility provided for solutions and questions. all of us make blunders, and that's not honest to pinpoint them after we come throughout them. I too had a similar difficulty such as you, in answering what I felt were good questions (inspite of the undesirable spelling), yet had to end the tries because the spellings created a doubt as to what the asker extremely needs to entice close. genuinely those who ask questions ought to comprehend that lesser the spelling blunders, the more beneficial valuable must be possibilities of drawing more beneficial responses. This communicate board attracts questions and solutions from international huge. the criteria of English and its utilization in some countries isn't as a lot because the point you'll anticipate from human beings whose 'mom tongue' is English. you may comprehend the spelling blunders of their writing. notwithstanding, what's gloomy is that even those who communicate in simple terms English and don't recognize the different language, are careless of their spelling.

No kidding. And there is even a spell checker yet people seem too lazy to use it and learn. Sad, isn't it! And to those who think it does not matter, you will when you get into the real world and people think you are an illiterate nerd.

A combination of being lazy and not caring. When my daughter was in fifth grade her teacher told me that they were not concerned about the kids spelling properly, if they had to worry about spelling properly it interfered with their creative process--baloney! It makes you look stupid if you cannot spell simple words.

A spell check option would be nice, but since they're too lazy to learn how to spell properly, they'd most likely be too lazy to use it.
