Fender or Crate amps, Marshall if you can afford a stack for Electric

I use hard picks for Riff Mashing and soft picks for scaling
Anything that is leather and has a neck pad is a good strap

BC Rich Plats are awesome double pickups sweet sound.
Of course fenders are great Ibanez are great but expensive

not so much into acoustic as I am into electric(love death metal)
anythings else you want to know email me been play in for 20+ years

You don't need an amp for an acoustic guitar unless it's an acoustelectric, which you didn't say you had so I assume you don't have one. I don't have an electric so I don't know much about amps.

Picks come in three sizes, normally. They are of thickness. I prefer medium but you probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway.

Just get a normal strap. They cost about 7 bucks unless you want a designed one in which case you might pay about 12. When I first got my strap I didn't know this, so I'll tell you and save you the panic. You do have to tie one end of it to the guitar with something. I use a shoestring. Just tie it under the strings, it's pretty easy. You should have a little thing on the other end of the guitar where you can slide the hole on the strap over, that's even easier.

Learn how to tune it. Automatic tuners rarely work. It may say that it's tuned, but it never is.

I don't know much about acoustic guitar amps, but for electric I'd go with a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier. I don't care for Marshalls. I like Fender picks pretty well, and I have a really nice guitar strap made by Levy's.

Hello,
Amplifiers have certain specifications, any quality amp with very good or state of the art specs will amplify any instrument with excellent quality sound, provided they are configured for such....which is really a matter of taste after all (good taste???). Things to look for are THD at rated power (full output) the lower the better for instance 1% nowadays is terrible, look for something less than .04%. THD is a very important spec. read up on it. Also important: audio power in RMS, not peak power and not line power consumption, a 50watt RMS power amplifier can produce a lot of sound. And one more thing: bandwidth a good amp should respond from 20 hurts to about 20,000 hurts esp. good for autistic players like me. (OK hertz, cycles per second or frequency)

On the pick: very stiff Jim Dunlop heavys are nice, very little chaos with great attack.

Strap wide and padded, dont sacrifice style for comfort here.

About guitars they are magical instruments to me, I was mesmerised when I was about 11, the solo in the Steely Dan tune PEG, remember that? if you have never heard it check it out, man I love guitars, oh yeah start with some 4 bar blues, its really something to love the 6 string electric. Recently I bought the Jeff Beck model of the Seymour Duncan line of pick ups, its really hot!! and impressively quiet, Jeff Beck knows his stuff. Hope this helps.

I know alot about guitars and basses. As far as best guitars it depends on what style you want to play and your size and comfort. Basically there is no way to answer these questions because they are all personel preferences. Go down to your local guitar store and Ask to try out some guitars. They will let you and then you will feel which one you are most comfortable with. The same goes for picks. One cool guitar brand that is made for females is Daisey Rock. They are a lil smaller but very good guitars

Acoustic, not autistic. Autism is a disorder.

The best equipment is the ones that feel right to you. You could have a stratacaster with an amp the size of a building and you will still suck if you're not getting the right feel for it.

Go to a music store and start trying guitars and amps out and see what's right for you. Also don't be afraid to ask the workers there about their reccomendations.

For a good acoustic guitar , TRY " EPIPHONE "
For a good electric guitar , TRY " FENDER "
Wal-Mart sell straps at a reasonable price
Picks have to be your choice - I like Nylon picks (medium guage)
Best electric amp - MARSHALL or Fender
Best acoustic amp - Fender or Carvin

NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! i played real guitar before i played guitar hero and the only use i got was that it helped me use my pinky more in real guitar and it helped me build up a little speed but even though you can play on expert get ready for a big surprise, just take real playing very very slow at 1st and get comfortable with positioning your fingers on the different strings and frets, just remember you won't have the speed of through fire and flames just after a couple of lessons
