Are you driving? Remember that it is a Friday and also a long weekend, so expect lots of traffic along 580 and the fellow commuters along 5.
My suggestion is to give yourself at least 8-9 hours worth of driving time. (Without traffic and major delays, it is a good 6 to 7 hour drive). If it is quite necessary to be there by 10pm, then I would even suggest taking the whole day off on Friday, and just get started driving at the crack of @$$, and just hang out in LA.
I always hit traffic in Dublin area (580/680 junction) and then again at Livermore area. Some slowdown just before getting on the 5. Then, you'll be with the masses driving down south.
You'll hit a bit of slowdown again around the foot of the grapevine, and at different places along the pass because of all of the construction going on (especially around Magic Mountain area).
Finally, you'll hit the LA traffic (yes, even on Friday night). And it is a good 45 minutes from LA to Annaheim (with minimal traffic, so maybe expect even more).

To drive?
With the Labor Day weekend traffic, you should allow 9-10+ hrs.
Traffic over 152 / Pacheco Pass to I-5 will be heavy on Friday. A longer-mileage-but shorter-in-time route takes you from Gilroy to Hollister using 101 to Highway 25 thru Hollister, then over to 152. I would expect traffic on I-5 will move along thru the Central Valley. Down in Bakersfield, up the Grapevine, Ft Tejon & Gorman traffic will be heavy (all the trucks.) But it will definitely be congested from Santa Clarita south. After you enter the LA basin south of Valencia, you should consider taking I-210 (Foothill Fwy) East to San Dimas, then take Hwy 57 South to I-5, then turn north on the 5. You will be within 5 miles of Anaheim. Like the plague, I would avoid taking I-5 thru the heart of LA.
Traffic on 101 from Santa Barbara south to LA will be also very heavy. I can only imagine how congested it will be from Ventura south on the 101 to the 405 San Diego Fwy. That could be a nightmare getting thru that part of LA on Friday.
Tune your radio to KNX AM-1070 for up to date traffic reports.
And the LA Timeshas an excellent real-time traffic map showing speeds and accidents on their website.

Good luck and hope you have patience.

Fremont... so you're going to have to take 880S to 101S to 152E to 5S....I wouldn't leave any later than 2pm in order to avoid traffic jams. And being Friday, you'll probably see many of them.

I would suggest mapquesting your trip, which will give you a good basic minimum time, then add at least an hour in case there's holiday traffic, or you want to stop for coffee or something.
