I absolutely thank God on a daily basis for what I have. I spent thirty years in the military defending this country and it has been good to me. I have a life that I could never have anywhere else in the world, I own material possessions that I worked hard for and that I know that the government will not take away from me. I have personal freedoms to say what I want to say, and travel to where ever I want to go. I think of all the countries I have seen and spent time in in my life, and there is only one that I want to be in. The USA. I think the spoiled brats that we raise, who have never had to do anything except worry about their looks or popularity will be shocked when they have to inherit this world. It is a lot of work on every citizen's part to keep the country free and the quality of life here the best we can. Despite all of the nay-sayers and depressed idiots that think the grass is greener somewhere else, we still have the best place in the world to enjoy.

I cover Congress and the Administration daily, and appreciate more than ever everything they do for and to us. This country needs more people questioning and thinking, so that maybe we can develop some intelligent political discourse, and maybe get an educated electorate. Heck, I'd be happy if most of the country would just vote!
The full role of a citizen in a democracy includes questioning whether the elected leadership is truly leading, or just bumbling. Only then can changes be made.

No max... I don't think of you, ever... Sorry.
As for appreciation. I appreciate that I am not an angry little pent up spoiled brat cashing in on the troubles of his people and completely ignoring the glory and the accomplishments that your beautiful, colorfull, culture has contributed to society while actually EXPERIENCING the sh*it you are complaining over. Yet still, they contributed beautiful music, science, culture, history... all while fighting the stupidity and the fear of man and overcomming, quite beautifully without you, by the way... If all anyone ever did was scream and rant and rave then NOTHING would EVER change!
a situation which you cash in on (by the way) so as to (for all your disgruntled attitude about the past) to use it as an excuse to never have to contribute anything worthwhile or viable to your culture other than an aimless gripe over an old ghost of a situation no one can change now.
Grow up!
Your grand-ma needs to smack the crap out of you! and you need to take your own advice and learn to appreciate yourself...in the HERE AND NOW!
Angry = ignorant ! You... are a slave of your own making!

who is "you"? what makes "you" different from the rest of "us"? Are you so much better that you can criticize what "we" do, tell "us" we're selfish, and not think twice about your own actions? Wouldn't your time be better spent spreading knowledge of a positive "black experience" than criticizing other people about how they live? And sorry, but somehow i don't think that you kneel before the Washington Monument to thank George. Leave the politics to the politicians, and if you're going to start a movement don't do it here.

You are grouping us all into one basket. I appreciate everything I have. I have worked hard most of my life. Of course I enjoy my freedoms, but then I've seen people who don't have freedom, so I have something to compare it with.

These freedoms give the people the ability to gripe about them. Some people complain even while you hang them with brand new bungee cord. All you can do is lead the cattle to the water, you cannot force them to drink. (Reminds me of a joke, but I better not tell it here.)
God bless America and God help those that want to do her harm, because they will never get too far.
Good luck!

English people can go to Cuba and drink at the age of...well, as long as they look 16 they can drink. If I go to europe, there's a good chance my phone isn't being ILLEGALLY tapped. If I fly from one country to another aside from the US, I don't have my shampoo taken away or my lighter removed.
Americans are cowards. Everyone's given up their privacy and civil liberties for "Safety". Five MILLION to one odds you'll die in a terrorist attack and I can't get on the plane with a lighter?
In other countries I'm not required by LAW to carry ID. No one asks for my bank account records if I want to rent an apartment in Europe.
Home of the brave my A55.
Save our resources and work on helping people here. They spend three trillion on Iraq and hurricane victims are left on their own? A friend died because she couldn't afford her seizure medication, that wouldn't have happened in Europe or Canada.
Get everyone the FOOK out of the middle east. We've got no business there, they wouldn't dream of messing with us if it weren't for our meddling to begin with.
No Soldier died so my phone could be tapped. No Soldier died so my taxes could go to halliburton or just become unaccounted for somewhere in the middle east. No soldier elected to die so Saudi Arabia could build a pipeline through Syria.
We've got a higher prison population than any other country. I spent all last august alerting the world to keep a 12-year-old girl out of PRISON for throwing a rock in self-defence. 12.
In Europe I don't have to pretend to be a Christian to run for office.
This is a great country, there's no malaria, AIDS victims get some health care, researchers and scientists are fairly well-paid, no one starves to death here. But it could always, ALWAYS be better. Why don't I move to europe, you ask? Because I have a business here, Other countries aren;t too hot on a bunch of Americans moving over, I know maybe a little spanish, and Europeans aren't going to shell out five digits for a website.
We have a lot to learn from the rest of the world.

Why no longer purely delight in a reliable woman often, because of the fact all Black women are not reliable. it is purely a stereotype. yet countless adult men love reliable women, those that don't are in simple terms intimidated.
