I've wondered how the storm monikers affect the popularity of a name. For example, if you were pregnant at this time last year and considering naming your baby Katrina because it has always been your FAVORITE name, wouldn't you have reconsidered?

I'm sure it does. There's an online site with the names ranked. You can go to it by year, too. Try "Andrew" after Hurricane Andrew, because it's usually a top 10 name, but after Hurricane Andrew, it probably dropped in use.

...Here's the website... I just looked it up. It looks like Andrew only fell a few spots in the rankings after Hurricane Andrew, sliding from #5 to #11 in the following few years. Guess it's not too impactful.

Families would NOT want to associate their newborns with storms/hurricanes that have done horrible damage, especially if those disasters affected them directly! One can safely assume that, currently, no one in their right mind would want to name their baby Katrina, especially if they reside in New Orleans or other states affected by hurricane Katrina last year...

i imagine both best issues to influence us all is: a million. 9/11. it really is a real biggy for us all, i imagine. 2. the cost of gasoline. not purely gas yet, also diesel. because of the upward push in gasoline expenses we are paying more effective expenses on the food market and different places we save because of delivery value, the cost of growing issues, etc.
