you can make money doing lots of things besides nursing
happiness and financial stability are not mutually exclusive proposals
keep looking
take another look at the kinds of nursing out there, maybe there is something you would like
check into some other things
plumbers make pretty good money
often, if you are even a little realistic, there is plenty of money to be made in following your dream job (not necessarily your dream not-job) but if there is something half-way reasonable that doesn't take overwhelming luck to succeed at (like maybe acting) that you can real love to do, then with hard work and the zeal that comes form loving your work, you can probably make plenty of money

happiness. you can't take the money with you. and the promise of financial stability is temporary -- what if you are a nurse, but then something else happens in your life that changes your financial stability anyhow?
Financial stability is a false promise of happiness. We rely too much on money to provide happiness. But if you hate doing what brings that money to you, no amount of money will ever make you truly happy.

Just think about this seriously... if you are not financially stable you probably will not be very happy. Dealing with not being able to be self sufficient is such a bummer. On the other hand. Happiness is worth its weight in gold. But you have to define for yourself what makes "you" happy, because not everyone defines happiness the same. So evaluate what your goals are and where you want to be on the time line and think about what you want to do. You will be thankful when you know what you want.

Having cash in the bank is good; however, if you hate your job everyday, you'll eventually leave anyway. Sometimes you have to do things you do not want to do, but if you are in a position where you can find something you do WANT to do, I'd always recommend trying to succeed in a field that you want before doing something you don't want.
It really depends on your position in live and your threshold for risk. For instance, if you are single and have little to no financial obligations, you should take a chance in a field you really want so you don't have any regrets. On the other hand, if your job prospects are bleak and you have 20 starving kids, you need to do what is going to be best for your family, etc, etc, etc.
but to answer your exact question, no one can answer it but you !

Go with something you really want to do. If you are doing something just for the money, you are not likely to give it your best. Some places this does not matter as much, but in nursing, the patients deserve the very best care. It could literally be the difference between life and death. Best wishes in following your dreams.

HAPPINESS! Do you want to be in a job where you have to force yourself to get up and go to everyday. How can happiness compare to any amount of money. Do you really need money to be happy? Life is to short to spend it doing something you dont really like. Two yrs from now are you going to lookat your self as a nurse and say... is this all my life is going to be? Do something you enjoy, and be happy.

HAPPINESS!! no amount of money will keep you happy for long. even if it seems ideal and great and you feel financially secure, you'll still end up miserable unless you're following your heart.

honestly i would go for the financial stability.
if you are happy with your work you will become miserable.
if you are a little unhappy you can use your $ to be happy outside of work
