No, the political problems with Israel actually make the gas issues more difficult. The United States was the initial enthusiast for the creation of the United Nations. The president's wife, Elanor Roosevelt, was very involved during and after the war. The UN decided to give the area that was in 1945 called Palestine, a very poor, tiny and powerless protectorate, to the creation of a new state, Israel. This was, in part, done as a way of totally defeating the agenda of the Nazis - to destroy Judaism worldwide. The UN did not have real power (military might) to enforce its decisions regarding the creation of Israel (The UN ignored Arab protests because Arab countries had almost no military and political power.) The US became the de facto protector of the inchoate state of Israel. The US has continued this way to the present day. It has nothing really to do with oil; it has everything to do with making the United Nations and its original decisions stand.

Israel is a small country about half the size of Lake Michigan or about the size of Wales it is fighting for its existence surrounded by enemies on all sides they are not doing the Americans dirty work. Its just the most democratic country in the region and they are very grateful for any help they receive and they are paying hard cash for any help that they do get.

The words of your question in a way answer your own question. It is, after all, DIRTY WORK. A democracy, such as America, prides itself on being a beacon of hope, freedom, and morality. Hence, it behooves the United States to distance itself from destructive and violent actions, necessary, to decimate Islamic militancy. We need to sustain our influence in Israel, because without this lone democratic voice crying in the desolate wilderness of Islamic theocratic tyranny, the world would be even more mired in conflict.
Israel does an excellent job at bogging down our Islamic adversaries in conflicts. By attacking them on their home front, while we assault them in other areas of the world, we repel their further advancement on the free world. This does not mean though, that I support the war in Iraq, since they did not have much to do with Islamic terror.

We don't pay Israel to protect them selves, that was the dumbest question I've ever heard, Israel is it's own country and can take care of themselves, don't worry in the end times which we are in right now, every nation will turn on Israel, then will you be happy, but their is only one draw back just before Israel is destroyed G-D will destroy 1/3 of the worlds armies, how is that for pay back. Remember G-D said I will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel, I'll stay on the Israelis side thank you. Good luck to you and yours.

Hello - wake up to reality Malcolm - your lifestyle and all your fellow Americans will END if the worlds oil supply drops by as little as 10% - Israel benefits from American military and economic aid - America benefits from having a friendly government in the middle east - to guess what - help maintain a steady supply of oil.
We are all guilty - our consumerism fuels demand for oil that includes you and me mate.

Frankly because since the 1960s there have been to many anti-American liberal pu$$ies in the USA.
It is easier to get Israel, our ally, to thin the herd. I mean we trying to HELP Iraq and look at the outrage from the idiots. Imagine if we just started killing the animals?

Because we can, are you an American? If so, would it make sense to send our own good people to do work in a totally different country when it might be more efficient to just support them in a change for the better?... Isn't that why people are mad about Iraq? "Bring our solders home" What exactly are you people asking for?

How wrong you are. The opposite is the truth. America is the puppet of the jews. The jew has a political stranglehold on Bush. They are the enemy within. When the West sees the jew for what it is then we will have peace.

Israel is an American proxy. It's so we can keep a hold on other areas without actually sending our guys there.
I think we should do that with the Kurds and Iraq.
