Hey seamus h,
Yes! If it is acne, try these sites. Many times pipmples are mistaken for acne.
Pimples are caused by bactiera that get into your pores.
This procedure was taught to me by a medical professional when I use to get pimples as a kid. But I found it helps keep my skin in great condition:
1. HOT Water, hot as you can stand it, on a wash cloth - put over your face, till it cools a little. Do it again. This opens the thousands of pores in your face.
2. HOT Water, hot as you can stand it, on a wash cloth - put two fingers into the cloth, dip on a bar of some type of mild alkali soap (I use a neutral DOVE, unscented for sensitive skin), and start at your hairline gently rubbing small circles. Cover your whole face with this process, changing the position of your fingers, reheating the washcloth, several times. Do you forehead, around eyes, temples, nose, bridge of nose, cheeks, neck, chin, your whole face and neck. This puts soap into your pores, killing bacteria that go there, and melting away the excess oils.
3. Clean off the wash cloth with HOT water, hot as you can stand it. Use this wet HOT cloth to RINSE your face, Repeat - GENTLY - NO SCRUBBING!! You are causing the soap to leave the pores with most of the excess oils and bacteria.
4. Splash HOT Water on your face to complete the HOT rinse.
5 Now, turn on the COLD water, and splash your face - this causes the pores to close up - preventing bacteria from entering your pores.
Your face gets cleansed, exfoliated, disinfected, messaged, steamed, and awakened. Do this twice a day.

Acne is just a part of life. im 16 and struggle with acne too, and no matter how many times in a day you wash your face, it wont do that much. Getting rid of acne just takes time and patience. You should consider seeing a dermotologist and he/she might just prescribe a special creme or something. I was given a creme called Tretinoin and it works really well, even though it makes your skin peel.At least it helps with the zits. Trying another face wash like AcneFree or Proactiv could help too. I''v tried both of those and they work great. I really hoped I helped ya, because I know how you feel. Trust me. ZITS SUCK !!!

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.

Proactiv it's the only thing that will clear up your face and even some of the small scars that have developed from popping pimples or blackheads that develop on your nose and chin, if you have any...they are starting to sell the product at little kiosks in the mall if you can't find them there try proactiv.com. Good luck!

Don't wash your face too often or harshly or the skin will get irritated and dry out even more (dry skin helps cause acne). Acne actually has nothing to do with what you eat, contrary to popular belief.
There is a good site about this stuff here:

What are you using as a cleanser. I understand the product that Vanessa Williams and Judith Leight do commercials for is excellent. I think the name of it is ProActive.

try something stronger than over the counter. go see a doctor or a dermatologist to get a prescription. if you can't do that, use a facial scrub and moisurizer that contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.
