what do you want to do? What interests you? Do you have any education? What is your education background? Do you want to still be able to spend time with the kids? If so, you need a job that has flexibility in it.
If you have no idea, try taking an IQ test or some type of test which tests your personality or likes and dislikes. And then go from there.
Sit down and right a list of what your good at.
Are you good with words or math or people....
Then research what types of jobs wordy people have or a people person has.

My daughter was in the same position. She went to work for the SPCA. That gave her the knowledge she needed to get a job at an animal hospital that also does boarding. They trained her to groom animals.
She then got another job at a place that just does grooming.
She only works when they need her and now that her son is in school she is also a substitute teacher. So whoever calls her first gets her. So some days she grooms and some days she teaches at her sons school.
And if she wants to stay home for a day she can.

Your not going back to work. Your leaving work behind! Being a fulltime parent is a very important and a hard job in itself. Probably depends on your education to what would be of interest to you. If your not looking into going to school, maybe try a Temp service to see what they have to offer. This way it is only temporary and you can see if you like it. They can tell you what is available and you can chose from there. Just a thought!

How about trying out some courses? That way you can see if you will develop an interest in something without committing yourself just yet. You can do it part-time, get certificates and it will be workable with kids to look after. That way you don't have to take any low-paid job and will enjoy it when you do find work.

Hi
I was in your position. I contacted the local college and took an access course, there are various access courses you can do inc access to nursing and healthcare. The good thing about these type of courses are they are very varied and you are not limited to `nursing`. Someone who did access to nursing actually went on to study Law on the back of the access course.
Just call yr local college and see what they have to offer. I loved my access course and am now starting Uni next week.
Good Luck

Do you want to go to school? Or get a job from the get go? Nursing and teaching would be good if you dont mind going back to school. If you dont, see if you can teach at the rec center or maybe coach if know alot about sports.

Well, how old are you? What did you do pre-motherhood? Have you any scope for learning new skills / obtaining qualifications?
It's a bit difficult to make suggestions without even the slightest clue to the sort of person you may be.

Decide what you definitely DON'T want to do, and that will make it easier to decide what you do want to do.
Maybe you should consider an IT refresher course at the local college - you'll meet loads of mums there who'll be in the same boat.
Good luck!
