No. Your computer will not update if it is turned off. The best way to make sure you have the current updates is to go to Microsoft Update and run it. Then in the window on the right of the page click and set a new time for the updating process. Set this for when you are normally on your computer.

That time is picked because it is the least likely time the computer will be in use, if your computer isn't on at that time then it won't update anyway.
It is best to take the updates as soon as they come out but there is typically no harm in waiting a day or so.

Do you eat while you sleep? I betcha can't.....same with your computer... Just set the updates to 3 pm, because it's a time in which you are more likely to be using your computer.

No, your computer actually downloads the updates better when it is turned off. It is best to unplug the computer and leave it leaning against your phone. The computer will download the updates via osmosis.

Actually, your computer will download the updates ANYTIME it is turned on, and when they are done downloading, it will prompt you to install them or install them at 3:00 if the computer is still on by then.

Yes, your computer has to be on to download any updates. Typically though, if it is not on, in your case at 3am, it will "catch up" the next time you turn it on and connect to the Internet.

The PC needs to be on but the screen doesn't. Anytime that is convenient for you is a good time.

examine no matter if Automatics Updates in switched ON, by the administration Panel. If above if all greyed out. Then that's likely that that's been disabled. bypass to: initiate > Run > facilities.msc > Double-click automatic Updates > Startup type to automatic > and initiate provider > ok end facilities.
