Absolutly not! Lettuce is acctually good for hamsters and gives them lots of nutrition.

If they have digestive trouble, they may react to head lettuce like birds, by getting awful, dehydrating diarrhea in proportion to the amount they've eaten.

If so, it's only head lettuce that would sicken them -- not Romaine or Red Leaf, etc. Head lettuce is mostly water. Unless it's poisoned, it shoudn't kill anything.

The only time lettuce kills hamsters is when you hit a hamster really hard with the lettuce.

Only if you were to drop the whole head of lettuce on it. Of course lettuce will not harm a hamster.

It would if that was all you fed them. Alternatively, dropping a Lettuce from a great height would also result in loss of Bunny.

It Can.

It is not good for them as they can't digest it properly and they end up with upset tummy that can then lead to dehydration and death.

They can though eat most other fresh fruit and veg in small quantities. When feeding fresh food ensure that any left over is removed as they will just store it and it will start to rot.

It seems half the answers here include mentioning hitting that poor little hamster with the lettuce, please note people!! hamsters have feelings, my advice is to get a hampster book and see what the best foods are, i think carrots are good. x
