why do some people like to sign their full names while others don't?

People who like their names often sign there full names. Those of us who don't like our name don't sign our full names unless we have to.

I noticed that people who have long names usually sign with initials. The shorter names can be signed in full. Idk....it's weird. Or maybe they don't like their own name.

a real signature should be that one that is so distinctive of the signer, ergo not the full name.
Full name is usually the one you use in schools. That's why i prefer not to sign in my full name. sounds so elementary. but however a lot of people sign with their full name and it seems to be the formal or professional way.

I hate my middle name. No, I'm not going to tell you what it is. Because of that, my signature has always been Ellen L. Anthony. When I started getting books published, I realized that Ellen L. Anthony doesn't look good on a cover, so I dropped the L. Now legal stuff gets signed Ellen L. Anthony and I sign my books Ellen Anthony. That's my reasoning.

some people sign their full names because they like it and they are arrogant . there is no reason to sign fully unless you need to.

I do as Sheepherder does; first two initials and last name. My penmanship is terrible because of arthritis in the hand. If I had my way, I'd type every signature necessary.

yeah, I agree with the people that said laziness. some of us have pretty long names that we don't care to spell out all the time...

It just depends on ur name, and the different styles ppl use for their signatures. u need to look past the writing and into their hearts.....lol, jp. some ppl jus do it differently
