If the Cards make the playoffs, then he will be MVP.
And from the dude that answered above, whats "Overall MVP"? Im pretty sure that one doesnt exsist.
Beltran wont get it because of his supporting teammates. His other teammates would take votes AWAY from him rather than help him. Plus, he is about 40 points lower than Pujols in batting average.
Howard, the the only other person in competition IMO, is not nearly as clutch, strikes out A LOT more, and doesnt have nearly as good a batting average.

Pujols is definatley the most valuable Cardinal, but the team isn't going anywhere and they're barely in contention.
Howard won't win because he's just offense. Granted, he's been the Phillies only offense, but I think Pujols and Beltran have it over him.
Carlos Beltran, NL MVP

Yes. The Mets have Beltran, Wright, Lo Duca, Reyes and Delgado. If you took one of those players away they would be fine but the Cards would be devestated without Pujols. He leads his team in average, RBI and HR so what would they do without that kind of production on an otherwise weak offensive team that doesn't have great pitching.

his competition are ryan howard, david wright, and carlos beltran. i think all of them have a great chance to win the NL MVP. it's very wide open race, but if you ask me, i think ryan howard has the best chance only if the phillies make the playoffs

So another question like this, huh? As you can see from a few other people's responses, Carlos Beltran will win it. Have a nice day! ^_^

Yes, he is the most important player on that team in clutch situations. The pitching in St Louis of late is bad, but his avg has gotten better and he is hitting the hell out of the ball.

Are you kidding all these people? Right now I really think that Beltron from the Mets would get it. Besides they might not even make it that far.
