Depends, the hourly wage varies depending on where you are. Around here it's between $10-$15 per hour. If you assume 40 hours a week, 52 weeks, that's $20,800 to $31,200 per year before taxes.

By the way, the pharmacist earns about five times that much and is in much higher demand. It's really worth the extra years of school :-)

i am so glad that you asked this question, i am currently enrolled @ High-Tech Institute in Memphis, Tn to become a pharmacy tech, your first year on the job you will make anywhere from 25- 36 thousand dollars a year not including bonuses and benefits; after four years experience you'll be earning up to fourty-seven thousand a year, the more degrees you have the better your money will be; while i'm in school getting my associate's degree i'll take the state board certification test and already be working while in school, this way i'll already earn thirty-five thousand a year plus the degree i'll make fourty-two thousand a year before i get the bachelors' degree; please don't just get one degree and think that's all you need to make some real money, i plan on going to get my masters' and eventually take the pcat examine and go to school to become a pharmacist were i'll be making a quarter of a million dollars a year. i hope this info helps you make the right decision .

not alot. Go the extra mile and get the pharmD. You are going to top out at under 30 k per year....and that's after you've been at it awhile--at least in Michigan. I've worked in a pharmacy while I"m attending school....it's not all roses..but it's interesting.
