lmao. 55 miles up would be in orbit... you would not fall, you'd have a great view, provided you have the oxygen to enjoy it. If you were in an elevator freefalling from anything higher than about 8 stories, you're dead. they did a mythbusters about that one...

Enjoy your last few moments of life by doing aerobatics.
Just don't fool yourself into thinking that you can be saved by jumping at the last minute.You're already falling as fast as the elevator.Yer gonna go splat no matter what ya do!

Yeah, you could do tricks. You'd be in a free fall in an aeroshell. Technically, you would be weightless... So, at least you'd have fun for the last moments of your life! :)

55 miles is not high enough to be in outerspace with a stable orbit, so you'd reenter the solid atmosphere and burn up on entry. however, in the meantime, i would push off from the walls and start myself flipping, and then see if it truely is possible to put one's head between their legs in order to kiss their own *** goodbye...
