Perhaps short term but when the excitement of the last few weeks has worn down they'll still only be mid table come next may!

I think that in the short term no, martin (as great as he is) will not put Villa on top of the table. Top 6 is maybe as far as ambitions can go over the next couple of seasons.
However, with Randy Learner being the financial source behind Villa I think that by buying the right players and providing Martin stays wth us for a few years, Villa may have the potential to be right up there.

I think top of the table is a bit much for a club like Villa - even with a great manager like Martin O'Neill and a GREAT player like Stan Petrov coming in. Stan gave 7 great years to Celtic and O'Neill knows him inside out and both will be instant hits with the Villa fans.
Not too sure of the way Villa have been run/playing over the past few season but I used to follow them a few years back after seeing, I think it was a good European run in the early 90's? Maybe now you have captured two of our great heroes, this Celtic fan will be paying a bit more attention!!
There's only one Stan Petrov. One Stan Petrov!!! Hail Hail

More likely he will send Villa fans to the sanitorium with his vision of how football should be played. Expect to sign a couple of 7 foot tall strikers and then watch your defence boot the ball up the Park to them or send in high crosses. Useless Mick!

Yes i think he will, don't know for how long though mabey only a week or 2. He definitely has the ability to get the best out his players and Stilian Petrov is a brilliant signing.
I'm a Celtic fan and martin O'Neil has given me some of my best football memories the man is a genius.

He has the passion, but severly lacks the resources. Massive clubs like Man utd & liverpool can't compete with Chelsea half the time so I can't see Villa doing it
