Sitting under an apple tree with my brother and great grandfather spitting seeds and dodging apples thrown by a territorial squirrel. Hot summer sun with green shade and grandma bringing peanut butter and crackers to go with the melon and showing me how to make dolls out of hibiscus blooms and twigs. Good times.

Fruit salad!
Why is this question in the Culture and Groups section? Shouldn't it be in the Food and Drink section? I guess this question has to deal with the stupid stereotype that all black people love watermelons......well that's what I'm thinking. Please don't e-mail me with some bullshit, it was just a theory.

Hot summer days in my grandmother's garden. She used to grow the best tasting melon I can remember. Not watered and sheltered until ready, they would grow immense and took much more of the nutrients it needed from the ground than the watered versions of the same breed.

Mr. Duck, I wonder if you were getting at something, something possibly racial? Did you want someone to say fried chicken? But I think most people have come to their senses and taken your question at just a plain level. I think of seeds.
