I think it had something to do with mucking up the plane's intruments or jamming the phone system on the ground? But somebody also told me it wouldn't work because the plane is too high and goes to fast and you would always be out of range. One of my friends tried to call me from a plane after it had landed and I was in the airport waiting for her. I didn't get the call. Insights?

No they will not allow it especially now with what happen with the last terrorist scare some airlines will not let you take it on the plane at all.

You can't use your cell phone on an airplane ( yet). For security reasons and even if you were allowed unless there was a repeater on the plane you probably won't get a signal anyways. But once on the ground you should be able to make a call without a problem. Unless you landed in the middle of nowhere or you can't roam.

YES, you can but your not supposed to and they will probably take your phone away if you are caught... My friend was on his during like half the flight...... But anyways, no they do not jam the radar and stuff. Watch Mythbusters and they say that it is slimly possible but they tested it in a plane like on every frequency and nothing happened

No, you can't make calls while flying, and they have to be turned off. If it was landed then thats ok, maybe she just didn't get connection at the time.
